Waterton Lake OverlookWe’ve all heard the expression in one form or another and it usually goes something like this — “there’s just no words to describe it”… or maybe, “words cannot convey”. If you know me, you know that I am not normally at a loss for words. I am however, finding it very difficult to formulate just how to go about sharing the experience of this last Canadian motorcycle adventure tour in such a way as to do justice to the natural wonders that are the Canadian Rockies.

From the time that I first discovered how fulfilling and rewarding adventure motorcycle touring can be, I have been searching out all of the best routes I can. The hardest part is deciding which of the many fantastic motorcycle tours to take next. One major problem, I can’t quit going back to Alberta, Canada! Every time I return to visit the breathtaking Canadian Rockies I promise myself that it surely won’t be the last, this ride was no exception.

Canoes at Lake Louise, Alberta CanadaAlthough I only had six days this time, I was still determined to get all the way over the Icefields Parkway and into Jasper. Because this is one of our featured guided motorcycle tours for the 2012 season, I wanted to squeeze in one last taste for the year. I think I tried to wear out my little Cannon Powershot in the process of getting some great colorful autumn shots. For this ride I took a GoPro video cam, a point & shoot, a Flip video cam and finally my new Droid X2. Armed with all 4 devices, I went a little crazy and did return with volumes of pics and videos.

I have a lot of work to do in order to organize and catalog all of this, and attempt to share through pictures and words, some sense of just how special and memorable adventure motorcycle tours in this region really are.

Glacier National ParkOver the next few blog posts, I plan to cover this ride in detail. I will share the exact route and highlights of each day and hopefully provide some photography that will help the words convey the general feel and grandeur of motorcycle adventure touring in such outstanding country. I hope you enjoy these few photos as a teaser of what will be coming over the next few weeks.

Ride often and keep the rubber side down!
